LEXINGTON AVENUE FURNITURE WAREHOUSE
Lying just outside the border of the South Clinton Hill Historic District, this 24,000 sq. ft. building was built in the late 19th-century as a furniture warehouse. Thanks to its massively thick stone walls and 13' basement, it served as a Cold War bomb shelter.

Although very rough when our Restoration Team began their work, we liked the building's solid construction, spacious dimensions, and natural light.

One of the pleasures of restoring older buildings is discovering pieces of history, like this wonderful antique sign.
